Other ways of volunteering
As well as Committee positions, there are other ways of helping out with the club and triathlon. We welcome any form of help!
Events
The Club organises a number of events, including a triathlon, duathlon and the Dale half marathon.
These need a lot of help from volunteers, including marshals, time keepers and registration.
To help with these events, previous experience is not necessary, we we are always very appreciative of any help which can be given.
If you are able to help with these please contact the Events Coordinator via ourContacts page.
Coaching
Although we have a strong coaching team, with a good pool of trained coaches, we encourage anyone who wants to help with coaching, especially swim coaching or help with the Tristars. Anyone coming onto the coaching team would need to be qualified coaches with British Triathlon, and have CRB checks. We are able to support a number of people to become qualified coaches each year.
If you are interested in helping with coaching, please contact the training coordinator via our Contacts page
Club championship
We hold a series of time trials over the race season. We welcome people to help with timing members taking part in them. For the dates of the time trials, please see ourcalendar.
If you are able to help out, please contact us via our Contacts page.
British Triathlon
British Triathlon recognised the importance of volunteers in triathlon, and have established a volunteer scheme. For more information about the scheme and to register as a volunteer please look at their website by clicking here
To recognise the importance British Triathlon places on the hard work done by its volunteers, it awards volunteer prizes each year. In 2007, our own Luke Watson was awarded the National Young Volunteer of the year prize for his hard work in organising the club duathlon last year – well done to him.
